OPENING CEREMONY

The Opening ceremony will take place at the Church of the St Johns, the part of the architectural ensemble of Vilnius University. The University of Vilnius, one of the oldest and most famous establishments of higher education in Eastern and Central Europe, was founded in 1579.

The full name of the church is the Church of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist. This church is considered an architectural monument of late Baroque, having no analogues in the entire Europe. The bell tower of the church, which is 68 meters high, is among the highest buildings in the Old Town. The construction of the church of St. Johns lasted for nearly 40 years in the 14th and 15th centuries. Today besides masses, the Church of Sts. Johns also a science museum, a venue for solemn ceremonies, theatre performances and concerts; here the Vilnius University graduates have their diploma ceremony in spring. It was visited by Pope John Paul II in 1993.

What to do in Vilnius? Take a hot air balloon flight and see Lithuania from above! Have an extraordinary sightseeing adventure over the UNESCO inscribed Old Town of Vilnius, beautiful Trakai Castle or other highlights of our country. Just imagine yourself detaching from the ground and getting closer to the clouds…

Duration: 1 hour flight (3-4 hours including preparatory procedures).

Price includes: Hotel pick-up service, flight briefing, flight, first flight ceremony, first flight certificate, original postcards, a glass of sparkling wine, transfer to the hotel.

Time: Hot air balloon flights normally take place early in the morning (1 or 2 hours after the sunrise) and in the evening (1 or 2 hours prior to the sunset), between 5 to 8 AM and 6 to 9 PM. On the 8th of June passengers for the evening flight would be picked up from the hotel around 7 PM. The exact time will be confirmed the day before.

Weather conditions: The hot air balloon flight is highly dependent on the weather: clouds, precipitation, visibility and the wind force. Usually, the weather conditions are forecasted in advance, but sometimes a preliminary forecast is inaccurate or incomplete. Therefore, even on arrival at the launch place the flight may be postponed or canceled for safety reasons.

Clothing: The most appropriate clothing for the flight is cotton clothing covering the whole body. High-heel shoes are not allowed on board!

Insurance: Every passenger on board is insured by the special aviation insurance.
